Nassau County "Medallion Program"
The Garden City High School and Mineola High School environmental clubs are
also participating in a Nassau County "Medallion Program" to cement signs on
curb inlets leading to stormwater basins to advise not to dump. If you or your
organization would like to know who to contact to get medallions for your

KyWi International Book Drive
I am a high school student collecting and donating items, especially books, to
the orphanages and nurseries in the Caribbean islands of Trinidad and
Grenada.
This is an ongoing project but since I will be going to Trinidad and Grenada
March 30-April 10, 2007, I would like a significant amount of donations, including
shipping costs by that date. I also have a list of the orphanages and nurseries
that we will be contributing to. It is available to anyone interested. Thank you
very much.

How to help:
Handout fliers for drive to stores and schools in your neighborhood.
Every 10 fliers= 1 hour of community service.
Since I am donating items to orphanages and nurseries, I would need books,
toys, summer clothing, and food, such as jello, etc.
Any 5 gently used items- books, toys, clothing, etc.= 1 hour of
