Volunteer Opportunities
Where Do I Start?

The long list of service opportunities may seem overwhelming, so before you begin
browsing aimlessly, try and figure out what the best match might be for you.

Pick something that correlates to an interest you have. Community service
should not be a chore. If you enjoy working with children, pick a category
where you can do that. Service can also be a time to experiment with your
interests. If you think you might want to go into medicine, try volunteering at
a hospital. Browse through the categories below that you find genuinely
interesting
Make sure you have all the necessary prerequisites to be part of a certain
program.
If you are not sure what you want to do, try looking through the list of
organizations organized by location. See what is located near you and
maybe one of those organizations and their mission statement will spark your
interest. Then return here to find out exactly what you can do!
Word of advice from one of
our member organizations:

"We are always looking for
compassionate, reliable
people who are dedicated to
helping others on Long
Island.  In addition, we are
open to new ideas.  If you
have an idea about how
you'd like to help but do not
see it listed, let us know and
maybe we can help.
Be Creative!"
